.Save your Christmas cards each year so you can use the fronts next year either cut into gift tags, or as a new layered front on a handmade card. This clever advice saves money, reduces waste, and it gives you unique and creative cards and wrapping.
.Remember to recycle all toy packaging, Christmas wrapping paper, selection boxes, and even Christmas crackers as possible. Flatten everything down as much as you can and remove any plastic inserts, which may not be recyclable. If you don’t have a recycling bin or if it’s overflowing, you can use your nearest recycling centre.
.Dispose of any suitable leftover food in a compost bin to create a free and nutritious compost to help make your garden bloom come spring time. Search composting advice on the right types of matter to be composting. PS. – Christmas tree needles can be particularly helpful in balancing the Ph of your compost as they are rather acidic.
.Search for your nearest Christmas Tree Recycling centre and save both the hassle of disposing of it, and the environment at the same time
.Recycle all those batteries from the kids toys used over the Xmas period. All battery suppliers should also have a collection for recycling.
.Unfortunately our loved ones don’t always buy us loved gifts! So if you find yourself with an unwanted gift, take it to your local charity shop rather than just throwing it away.
.You most likely already do, but make sure you recycle all your glass, plastic and paper. Recycling collection centres are everywhere. Please use them and do your part for the environment.
